This month, I had the incredible pleasure of collaborating with Essex-based wedding event supplier, Simone Payne of Bespoke Proposal, for my very first alternative wedding shoot. The theme was Alternative Weddings with a striking Gothic Bride aesthetic. I was thrilled with how the images turned out, and I’m so excited to share them with you!
We focused on the stunning dresses provided by Crowns and Gowns Bridal Essex, which featured dramatic reds and blacks, perfect for a Gothic wedding vibe. Every detail of the set, from the props to the styling, was meticulously planned by Simone and her team at Bespoke Proposal, creating an atmosphere of eerie elegance.
Working with the talented model Nancy Payne, we were able to bring this vision to life in some truly breathtaking locations. We shot at Stifford Hall and the theatrical ruins of Hadleigh Castle, which offered the perfect backdrop with views overlooking the dramatic Essex coastline. The moody skies and gusty winds only added to the atmosphere, giving the shoot an extra touch of drama and mystique.
As an Alternative Wedding Photographer, I love capturing unique and unconventional weddings. This shoot was an excellent opportunity to show what can be achieved with a bit of imagination and creativity. If you’re planning an alternative lifestyle wedding—whether it’s Gothic, vintage, boho, or something else entirely—I’d love to photograph your special day and bring your vision to life.
