It is a great privilege to document a couple’s wedding day. For me, wedding photography is about much more than simply taking photographs. It is about quietly observing the people, personalities, emotions and little moments that make your wedding day uniquely yours.

I’m Simon Turner, a documentary wedding photographer based in Northampton, specialising in relaxed, natural and candid wedding photography throughout the UK and at destination weddings.

I understand that having a photographer around you on such a personal day requires sensitivity, professionalism, experience, good humour and discretion. My approach is deliberately unobtrusive. I want you and your guests to feel relaxed in front of the camera rather than constantly aware that you are being photographed.

Rather than directing your day or filling it with endless posed photographs, I concentrate on capturing the candid moments of romance, laughter, celebration and fun as they naturally happen. I keep traditional formal group photographs to an absolute minimum, while still making sure we capture the important family photographs you’ll want to look back on.

I particularly love photographing the characters, stories, smiles and unexpected moments that unfold throughout a wedding day – the things you may not even notice at the time, but which can become some of your favourite photographs for years to come.

Based in Northampton, Northamptonshire, I have been a professional wedding photographer since 2018 and have photographed weddings throughout the UK and beyond. Over the years, I’ve learned that no two couples or wedding days are the same. That’s why I offer a genuinely personal service, taking the time to understand you, your plans and what matters most to you.
