Louise & Arthur’s Intimate Warwick Wedding

I seem to have had a run of intimate weddings in historic locations of late. I’m certainly not complaining.

Warwick, famous for its incredible castle, Tudor architecture, quaint shops and winding streets, was the setting for Louise and Arthur’s special day.

I met Arthur and the gathering of close friends and family at the Old Coffee Shop Café before we made our way to the Judges House, a beautiful Georgian Grade II-listed building, for the short ceremony in the Sheriff’s Office.

You really don’t have to go far in Warwick to find somewhere interesting to make photographs. In fact, we only had to walk a few steps.

After a handful of family group photographs beneath the arches of St Mary’s Church, Louise, Arthur and I headed off for a short wander around this beautiful historic town. We found plenty of little streets, buildings and corners that made lovely backdrops for a few relaxed portraits.

And then it was back to the Old Coffee Shop for a very casual afternoon of beer, tapas and some hilarious, heartfelt and completely impromptu speeches.

I was with them for just three hours in total.

I think it goes to show that you don’t always need to book the biggest occasion, the grandest venue or spend the entire day in front of a camera to have a wedding that means the world to you.

As a documentary wedding photographer, these are exactly the kind of weddings I love. Small, personal, relaxed and completely focused on the people who matter most.
